About this patch…

If you find yourself saying this,

"Man O man do I love the Alta Vista search engine at Digital. Its the only search engine I need  but I have to go hunting through my sea of bookmarks every time i want to use it. I just wish that I could have a little button for it right in my browser..." 

then this patch is for you.



There are now two hacks included in this package.

1. The good old "AltaVista Hack." - it replaces the button in Netscape 2.0.1 that says "Net Search" with one that says "AltaVista" and when clicked it will take you to the regular search at:

http://www.altavista.digital.com/

2. The "Advanced Query AltaVista Hack." - it replaces the button in Netscape 2.0.1 that says "Net Search" with one that says "AltaVista" and when clicked it will take you to the advanced search at:

http://www.altavista.digital.com/cgi-bin/query?pg=aq&what=web


INSTALLATION:

Go get a FRESH copy of Netscape Navigator 2.0.1 and install it. Then decide which patch is best for you and run it. It will ask you to find Netscape and then it will do its magic. Dont worry, it makes a new copy of Netscape so if something goes wrong you wont be S.O.L.



FUTURE PLANS:

I think that im gonna write a little something that allows the user to change all of the button names and URL's to whatever they want. but first I gotta go to bed.
